    If you can drive to our Eureka, MO store, we offer all of our saddles, both new and consignment, for 7 day trial.

    • Up to three saddles at one time.
    • Drivers license and credit card number are kept on file.
    • No deposit or charge is made to the card to begin the trial.
    • Saddles are to be used long enough to warm up the horse and test fit. No long rides or abuse is allowed.
    • Customers are responsible for loss or any damage to the saddles in their care.
    • Simply stop in the store, work with our staff to choose the best options and we will handle rest.

  • Non-Local Trials

    GHE understands that saddle fitment is nearly impossible over the internet, so we offer saddle trials by shipping. Both new and used saddles qualify.

    • All online saddle sales include a 5 day trial.
    • Customer is responsible for all shipping costs in addition to purchase price.
    • Once the saddle is delivered to the customer, their 5 day trial period begins.
    • On or before the 5th day of the trial, customer must notify GHE by email or website message if the saddle is to be returned or the trial ends and the customer owns the saddle.
    • If the saddle is to be returned, we provide a shipping label to use with the ORIGINAL packaging to return the saddle at the customer's expense.
    • Restocking fees apply as below.

Local Saddle Trial Agreement

We allow saddles to be taken out of the shop to try on your horse to make sure it will fit your horse comfortably. The information must be filled out completely and the following stipulations apply:

  1. Golden Horseshoe, Golden Horseshoe Equestrian and GHE are all understood to mean Golden Horseshoe Partners LLC in this agreement and within any communications and agreements.
  2. A valid credit card number will be kept with this contract until you either buy the saddle or return it in mint condition and to the rules stated here.
  3. The customer and the salesperson will look over the saddle and indicate on this contract any noticeable marks and/or defects before leaving the store.
  4. The customer is responsible for the safe keeping of the saddle until the end of the trial period or until the saddle is received back at Golden Horseshoe Equestrian. If the saddle is lost, stolen or broken, the full purchase price will be the responsibility of the customer. If the saddle is damaged or blemished, depreciation cost of damage or blemish or repair cost will be charged (Minimum 20%).
  5. The saddle should only be ridden long enough to make sure it fits properly; 15-20 minutes is usually long enough. These saddles are not to be used for lessons, show classes or trail rides.
  6. Do not use the leathers on the English saddles without protective covering (ex. sock or fleece) as they leave marks. Also, make sure the buckle guards are adjusted properly to ensure that the girth buckles do not leave marks on the top flap.
  7. Please wear clothing that is non-abrasive and are colorfast.
  8. The saddle should be returned in mint condition. Any saddle which is brought back with mud, dirt, dust, scratches, sweat, water or rub marks will be charged a minimum of 20% restocking fee if deemed necessary, as we will have to discount the saddle for future sales.
  9. Any saddle returned with excessive wear on the flaps, scratches in the leather, nicks or significant marks to any part of the saddle will automatically be assessed a minimum of 20% of the saddles value. If the saddle is extremely damaged, so that it will significantly affect the subsequent sale of the saddle, the full purchase price will be charged and the saddle will become the property of the customer.
  10. All pre­owned saddles are sold as is. We do our best to describe saddles accurately including blemishes and measurements. We also use all information from the previous owner and our knowledge and experience when describing each saddle. However, we do not guarantee the leather type as these are often difficult to distinguish. If you need additional measurements or photos, please ask! We are happy to send you additional information before you place your order.
  11. Saddles not returned by 6pm of the return date will be charged by 10am the following day. Please contact us if you will not be able to return the saddle in time.
  12. Customer will not hold Golden Horseshoe Partners LLC, it's owners or it's employees liable for any safety defects of the saddle. We work hard to ensure that we are sending you the highest quality saddles in good condition. However, we cannot completely confirm the safety of every saddle. All consigned saddles are sold in pre­owned condition and are offered a 7-day trial so that our customers have the opportunity to check over the saddles either themselves or with a trainer or saddler, if they wish to do so. Golden Horseshoe is not to be held liable for an injury caused by a defective or faulty saddle.
  13. Once purchased, used saddles are not returnable, no exceptions. If you choose to purchase the saddle, your receipts will be emailed to you.
  14. Once we receive the saddle return and confirm that it is in the same condition in which it left, we will close out the trial and you have no further obligation.

  12. All return shipments are $100 which includes full insurance. The return shipping fee will be deducted from your refund.
  13. Once we receive the saddle return and confirm that it is in the same condition in which it left, you will have the option to use the credit from the return towards another saddle order. Or, we will process your refund (minus the return shipping fee and restocking fee). There is a $100 restocking fee for all saddles returned from ­trials. However, you will never pay a restocking fee if you end up with a saddle from us within 30 days, no matter how many you try. If a saddle is returned, the restocking fee will be taken out of the refund, but it can be used as a credit towards the next saddle purchase within a 30 day time period. If multiple saddles are tried, the restocking fee credit time period begins on the original order date.
  14. Saddle trials are only available to customers within the United States. No international saddle trials are available.
